Yoga can be a great way to build muscle, but like any other exercise, it's all about what you put into it. Most yoga isn't about building huge biceps or pecs or whatever like weight lifting is. But Yoga can be EXCELLENT for core strength, flexibility, and overall fitness, and all of those things will complement "getting ripped" if that is your objective.

Just make sure you choose the right kind of Yoga for your objectives -- you'll probably want Vinyasa or Power Yoga, using a course or DVD designed for athletes. See link below for some good options!

Eating a lean (low fat) diet is a big factor in getting ripped.
Yes, you have to do an activity that promotes muscle growth, but if your diet is still high in fat content, it will take you a lot longer to get ripped.
A lot of people don't realize they already have a nice six pack; it's just hidden beneath a layer of stomach fat. And no, you can't "target" fat loss from a just an isolated part of the body.

Well, I practice yoga for an hour or a little bit more a day 7 days a week. If you are already slender yes, yoga will tone your body. And eventually you could get ripped. But it'll take time, of course it will not be as fast as doing extreme cardio and lifting a lot of weight. Also, you have to eat healthy and drink tons of water if you want it to work. With yoga you will improve your posture and lenghten your body which is great. I am already noticing the muscles on my thighs and arms a little bit. Oh, to get better results in my opinion you should practice vinyasa yoga or 'power yoga' to challenge the body

I have a hiatal hernia. I've done a lot of research, and I haven't heard of any proven way to reduce or cure it without surgery. It doesn't restrict my activity at all - I'm a triathlete and marathoner - but I do take 20mg of omeprazole every day to control the GERD.

Don't be fooled by bad religion! Doing yoga will increase your love for god and your love for your neighbours, and these are the pillars of christianity.

I would say combine them and add some traditional stretching as well. Don't over do it by doing both programs to their complete extent. As far as traditional stretching, hold each stretch longer, for a minimum of 20 seconds. Don't eat or drink right before stretching either. Good luck!

Yoga is aimed to unite the mind, the body, and the spirit. Pilates works the whole body, emphasizing control, precision and concentration in both the mind and the body.
Both look a slow stretching movements. Pilates has slightly more emphasis on strength. for what you are wanting, I would recommend Pilates.

It's fine, there's no conflict. Those who say there is a conflict don't know enough of their Christianity, and nothing about Buddhism. Therefore, since they don't know, they're not in a position to give an educated conclusion, are they?
