Kali and Karl and me

I ambled my way into town this afternoon with my sister with the aim of finding the September issue of Vanity Fair with Lady Gaga on the cover. I am of course being a total eager beaver about this, but I have a feeling that this is going to be something of a collector’s item. I mean she looks even more insane than normal.

“Who is she? Why is she?” Oh, Vanity Fair. You deep muppets. Anyway, I obviously didn’t find it, but I did end up getting something else. Or rather 2 things. That’s shoes.

I’ve been after a pair of loafers for a while and to be honest I was trying to avoid buying a pair from Topshop because there’s something I don’t like about the “granny-chic” connotations (I know, I’m a total hypocrite, ok) because it just seems foolish not to buy them from an actual place where grannies would buy their shoes if that’s the look you’re going for. I honestly did look around other shops in town but they all had strange heels, or were patent, or didn’t have tassels- something I became very fixated on. They had to have tassels. So of course I did end up getting these at Topshop because they had everything I was looking for, and my sister said she’d buy them for my birthday present. Which was fine with me! When I asked the guy working there if I could try them on, he yelled out to his colleague “Can I get the Kali in a 5??” And I thought hey that’s pretty cool,- whilst these shoes look mild and comfortable and orthopaedic, they’re named after a strong, fiery goddess. Well, turns out I heard him wrong: they’re actually named Karl. Not so strong and fiery. But probably more apt, as I can add them to everything I own that makes me look like a boy/old woman.

Speaking of, I came home and checked my bloglovin’ and saw Style salvage Steve had scored a gorgeous shirt from a Peter Jensen sample sale. After that I checked my email, and Cocosa informed me that their Peter Jensen sale starts tomorrow. I’m a big fan of his fun, cute prints so had to check it out and oh look what is here but the very same shirt. I am a smitten kitten. Well I would be if I got my paws on this.

Yeah, the quality of that picture is shocking but the print is of little people- see Steve’s picture. So cute.
85% off! Only £69. I still can’t allow myself to buy it so I urge any Jensen lovers out there to check out the sale, there are lots of other bargains to be had!
