Top h&m – trousers vintage via ebay – bag vintage – shoes topshop – rose ring topshop – gold ring asos

Given that Hadley Freeman wrote a, granted -hilarious, but scathing piece on Breton tops this week, I was a tad self-conscious putting this on this morning. Yes, everyone has one, and yes, they do carry the slight risk of making one look a tad “Michelin man”; but they are a modern classic, a staple to turn to when feeling uninspired/in a rush. This is not the only faux pas pictured here; I was wearing these trousers in the last outfit I posted, about a fortnight ago- potentially a blogger no no?; and I’ve paired brown trousers with black shoes- which I’m fairly sure is considered sinful to most style conscious types.
Basically what I was going for was veering towards the crazy camel trend by matching a charity shop satchel find with the darker bottoms. I could have done a head to toe look for the lolz, but frankly, a day consisting of a trip to Tesco to buy ingredients for lemon meringue didn’t really call for it.
