Pain and pleather

Next Top – Topshop trousers via ebay – Topshop loafers – Vintage ring

I had to get in on the gothy vibes of the coming season, influenced by everything that I loved about The Row’s collection. Leather and pleather are everywhere thanks to the Celineiphying of the high street. Next, particularly, have come up with a great affordable selection of tees, shorts, skirts and dresses,- and I’ve also noticed a few caramel coloured treats on the racks at H&M, combining two huge forthcoming trends. Unbelievably this top only cost me £18 and fits a treat, whilst the lace harems were a £2 ebay score. Together, the look is quite androgynous, and with my trusty jersey maxi the top works just as well for even more of a Mary-Kate (I wish) resemblance. I know that over the last few years the term goth has come to be a derogatory term for teenagers who wear far too much eyeliner and listen to (imo) awful music but if this is its current incarnation I am all for it.

By the way, I realise that my expression is godawful here. I’m honestly not sure how that happened, and would have picked any other photo, had they actually shown the outfit in a better way. Unfortunately this was the best of the bunch. I guess that’s the “pain” part of the title.
