Shravana month, named after the janma nakshatra of Lord Venkateswara is the most dearest month to Lord Balaji and His Consort Maha Lakshmi. As per South Indian Calender, Shravana Masa begin from Aug 10th.
As per North Indian Calender Shravana masa has already begun. They dedicate this month exclusively for Shiva’s worship. Devotees undertake a special vrat called “Solah Somvar Vrath” during the month. (Vrat details are available under Archives – “Lord Shiva”)
Shani Trayodasi:
Shani Trayodasi is observed on 7th August and also on 28th. (Refer Panchangam). Visit Archives section to read detailed info on “Shani Trayodasi”.
Nagula Chaviti/Panchami/Shasti:
Nagula/Nag Chaviti, Naga Panchami and Shasti are celebrated from August 12th – 14th particularly by Shree Vaishnavites and in Northern part of India. Some devotees undertake special poojas only on Nag Panchami. Those who miss worshipping Subramanya during Shravana month can take up the rituals during Karteeka Masa.
